Within two sessions the pain had subsided. I’d never had a massage before so was a little nervous. Abigail was friendly and welcoming. She made me feel at ease and I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to go back”

Sports Massages
Maintenance Sports Massage
Usually part of a course of massages, it maintains muscle length, ensures muscle fibres are free from adhesions and improves range of movement.
Relieving any built-up tension can help maintain neutral posture and avoid injury.
Pre-event Sports Massage
A slightly lighter massage, its main aim is to ease any tension, promote circulation and improve elasticity of the muscle fibres, ready for performance.
By creating heat, the pliability of the muscles is increased.
Post-event Sports Massage
This treatment starts the recovery process. It helps the body flush out waste products that have been produced from exercise, helping to promote recovery and repair damaged fibres by aiding circulation of nutrient-rich blood flow to the muscles.

Reflexology
The ancient art of foot massage. It believes that energy flows throw the body’s meridians and that massaging the feet stimulates healing and relaxation. There are reflexes in these areas that correspond to every part, organ and gland in the body.
Using a variety of techniques, your whole body is worked on and you only need to remove your footwear. It can be effective in improving relaxation and wellbeing by stimulating reflex points to bring the body back to a state of balance. This restores the body’s self-healing mechanism and benefits can include:
- Balancing the energy in the body on physical, mental and emotional levels
- Increasing circulation

After a treatment
You might feel tired, it is very important to rest and relax as much as possible. Also:
- Take a warm bath, ideally with epsom salts.
- Drink plenty of water to help flush out any toxins released by the treatment, this will help reduce any contra-actions making the treatment more beneficial.
- Reduce the amount of caffeine you drink so that your body can concentrate on healing.
- Only eat a small meal after the treatment so that your body does not have to divert blood to aid digestion.
- Do not drink alcohol or smoke for 24 hours as they increase the levels of toxins in your body.
Possible Reactions
After a massage, you will normally feel relaxed, however there might be an occasion when you have a reaction from the treatment; these are usually due to the stimulation of the lymphatic system as the body is re-balancing itself.
The side effects will be temporary and last about 24 hours. It is perfectly normal to feel a little different after the treatment and you might have: a headache, nausea, thirst, tiredness, a breakout of spots, aching or soreness of muscles or excessive urination.
